Remembering

“Se wo werefi a, na woa sankofa y3nkyi”

-It is not wrong to go back for that which you have forgotten.

Akan Proverb

As a Ghanaian American living in Ghana, the wisdom I am accumulating on this journey is like a mirror; it reflects not only the workings of a communal society but  the cosmos of my inner being. I am blessed and grateful to have returned home and and to be finding different pieces of myself along the way. So many of us don’t know enough of our history. In reclaiming our past, we are inspired to honor the knowledge of our ancestors by building greater futures. Investing in ourselves is planting a tree that will bear endless fruits for the generations to come.
